Guest Spot 10 - Detboi

Ok so i'm back on posting, got 3 dope posts lined up on top of this one, so get your read back on.
This post is the first of a new segment which i'm gonna try and maintain. It's basically a guest-spot top 10 list. I spoke to diizy (sadly his blog just closed down) about the idea of something similar to this ages ago, but never got round to it, and just put up my own top 10s.

Anyway the idea behind these lists is to show some dope new music that we may not know about, from a special guest lister, that changes each time. The idea is also to give you links on where to buy the music, so if it's been released you'll get the link. But, as it goes there's often unreleased tracks in these lists, so there'll be myspace links etc. Hopefully i'll get one up a month, or something there-abouts. (You know i'm not gonna commit to a regular thing, we don't wanna interfere with my lazyness)


Anyway, the first list comes from one of my favorite producers atm, with a fun-arse original style, detboi:

For those who don't know, detboi's debut EP, Do You Know Who I Am? has just been released through On The Brink Recordings. The EP is a serious must have... I've had "Just Can't Hold Back" on my own top 10 for the last while, and i'm still not bored of it. deboi really has his own sound flowing through his tracks, which is always a good find, but on top of that the tracks are floor stompas too. You can feel some tech and garage influence, along with a love of bassline, and choppy tunes. The tune getting the most response of the album is "Hold Up" with an extra bit of squelch, but yeh, my fav is still can't hold back.
