This, is going, to make you freak

Just some supa hot tracks that i got my hands on the last few days. I love good influxes of choons, i've had to pour through a lot of shit lately (i'm glad i get paid for DJing to justify all the time i spend listening through, and to music). Some gems are hitting through tho, and it's about that time of the season where a bunch of hot albums drop (i'll do a run down post on some shiners from the year so far in my next post probably).

Anyway first up is a fucken fresh arse track i've been hanging for, for the last while and now have, courtesy of awesome blogger-buddies discodust. It's the Fake Blood remix of Bonde Do Role's 'Gasolina'. I'm loving the things Mr. Blood has been doing lately, he's really taking a good look on tracks, flipping them the fuck out, giving them his own distinctive sound that fits in all too well with rocking fucking DJ sets. He's using a similar big synthy sound that he has in two of his other recent remixes of The Black Ghosts and Armand Van Helden, and the Lyn Collins 'Think (About It)' break (heavily popularised recently through the bmore movement) but this time more nicely tweaked and sample replaced to fit. The sound is more perfected, my speakers are pumping and the rooms a'shakin.
I'm gonna make a new mix after i finish uni (in the coming weeks, yuuaaa) that's gonna be all ravey, but not at all nu-ravey or indie electro. Considering i've recently been hating on repetitive ravey sounds that are flooding the music market, i've been going thru all my cool rave tracks, and finding a whole lotta new stuff that's got a similar sound, but is actually taking it in new directions, and keeping it fresh. Anyway this 'Gasolina' remix is totally gonna be mixed in there.
Look out for the release upcoming on Domino Records sometime soon hopefully.

This next track i received in the mail the other day from Haydn Haydn, hailing outta the UK, and was all too pleasantly surprised. I checked my mail right before i was going to bed, and was thinking all, "Oh, another Timbaland electro remix" but had a listen anyway... Then all of a sudden i was head mashing and my girlfriend was all like "W'oah?". It starts off with a big beat, and then just grows and all of a sudden you've got a thumping arse, rolling synth line. What's even better, is this is Haydn's first "proper" remix, that he's actually crafted all the way to finish. The boy needs some added confidence on his beats tho for sure, cause he was all like; "I've sat on it for a while now and forgotten about it"..."it's maybe a bit too heavy in the synth department" After you listen to the track tho, i'm sure you'll agree with me that he's being all too modest. Head on over to his myspace and tell him he should churn out some more choons (you can also grab some of his DJ mixes there too). Anyway i headed over there too, and was into his LFO (also check out his Warp Page, it's cool) remix of the track 'We're Back' too, so asked Haydn for it, and he was kind enuf to share. Basically, don't sleep, check em out::

The LFO track took me back. You remember LFO from the 90s or something. He had a really popular track which i'm sure a lot of you will know, that i haven't heard in ages. I think it needs a revisit. I'm gonna haveta start dropping it in some sets i reckon, will go down all too well. I might need to make an edit or remix of it too when i'm finished uni (ahh, the illustrious plans for a finished uni). Anyway it's a bit of a classic and worth a download- it was also worth the title of this post.

One last bit of awesome before the end of the post. Detect has come out with a new single on Mental Groove, 'Dance Division', with two fucking awesome remixes, one, by Blende, which hasn't gotten much attention, and the other which has been around a bit, but the much loved Yuksek. Both remixes are really heavy tracks, and once again, i've been mashing my head to my speakers late thru the night. Make sure you get over to Blende's myspace and check some more choons he's got on offer, he's got a really cool sound, i'm glad i've found him. It's kinda like he's using rock drums, some breaks synth presets, and a sorta ravey electro groove and structure.
It seems like the release is only out on Vinyl at the moment, available at Juno.

Also, while we're topic of freaking out, i really shouldn't have watched this as a kid.

blende is awesome, I'll see if i can find you a copy of Miles dyson - Satisfaction (Blende's superior remix) or something along those lines. Miles and Blende are amazing producers and their skill has gone unnoticed for some time. Theses guys need to get into the blog house scene, they'd explode.
