Hand me a crown

In a set of comments recently i found out from GSB that apparently i got a mention in a Crown Dozen list. They give top twelve listings there, along with a bit of a blog thang too... While i was reading i found out that there's apparently an energy drink called Hot Balls. I also learnt there is an unknown world of little people around.
Anyway i was named in the Top Twelve MP3 blogs, and am up there with some pretty farken choice-ay-bro other blogs, including some i didn't know of and am now subscribed too...
Here's what the list looks like.
01) La Decadanse
02) Slutty Fringe
03) Big Stereo
04) Call Me Mickey
05) Green Pea-ness
06) Discobelle
07) Disco Not Disco
08) Gang of Neon
09) Scattermish
10) BLK:MRKT
11) Upside Down
12) Fluokids
So on the note of MP3 blogs, i better post a track, as i ain't in the last lil while... This is a kinda funny song, but it still ends up being fun too...
Plan B ft. Trina, Trick Daddy, LDA - Frikiton (remix) (zshare)
I'm gonna say a big shout out to a super fun lass named Zoe! Cheers for sharing a pretty damn awesome weekend and getting me off my arse... my ears are still ringing and i'm scared, but i think that's cause of some fuck at the NSC sound check, serial i'm so glad i don't know who was behind that fucking desk when they blew way too much feedback thru my ear, fucK fuCK fUCK FUCK!
Anyway Zoe has got some serious skankin moves, so i was forced to join in... Was a big party funk break-beat thang at the espy (i hate that bloody room, but it's getting some good acts currently) on thursday, Breakestra was playing, and they know how to get people moving. The did a crazy encore too that went for like 30 mins, only thing is i didn't notice them play my favorite song of theirs, The Gettin' To It.

Friday saw me head over to see Ratatat play at Ding Dong lounge... it was crowded and smokey, but still ratatat was pretty rockin. Basically their set up consists of some sorta foot pedal controling which of their beats to play, then they rock out a guitar and a bass over the top. The guitarist half of the pair, the dude with the long hair, was just like headbanging the whole night, enuf windmills to airate the place, was cool as. After that we all went to the opening night of Ch-Ching, the night that Loot puts on with Paz and Ooh-Ee. It was pretty damn sick i must say, check it out Friday nights at that hot-new-bar-which-i'm-trying-to-work-out-a-way-to-get-a-gig-at-Miss-Libertines, check it out for some electro/hyphy kinda flavours with a tiny bit of bmore to taste. So we had a dance there, and then it was onto this party of Zoe's out in Coburg, i was all like nut' i'm dancing here some more then bailing, but managed to be convinced to head to the party, even though it was like 2 or 3. But yeh got there, and it was kinda cool, they have like a scout hall with a stage with some drums on it (which i played... like the first time i've played some in many a year, and although i've lost much of my co-ordination on em, it was mad-cool). Also i hollered at the DJ and found out that he was a reader of this blog, what a trip ay! another example of that small word 'ish. He was into sound-art too, but in my all to scattered fashion i didn't ask him about anything that he'd done/is doing. So if you're out there nick (it is nick yeh? sorry it was late and i was drunk and forgetful) hook me up with some of your sound art details, and maybe some pictures and i'll post em up if you're down ;). Anyway yeh that party went on for a while, i had some lebonese pizza, then passed out and caught the first tram home, and had a nice long recovery walk in the sun.
Onto saturday (geeze it's only saturday!?) my head wasn't as bad as i thought it would be, and i managed to have some breakfast, then break for a bit of a siesta to get me ready for the night. I ended up playing at this new skater-bar called The Blue Tile Lounge. Really chill place. It was opening night, and me and Deltoid took the decks. The owner is this guy Cam, he also built the place (and he built St. Jeromes btw). He's done a really nice job of the place, it has a nice bar in the middle, with some blue tiles. Some graphing out the back (which he's gonna keep updating i hear). He also is a collector of old lamps, so has some sick lights hanging around, then he has some nice seats thru the place too. I'll have to take some pictures when we play this coming saturday to show you what it's like. Ah yeh, so that's the deal, it seems like the Sine Language crew will be holding down the saturday night slot there (and Ems is on friday), it's 95 Smith street, next to the kebab shop on the corner of Gertrude street. So the night was pretty cool, only thing is that i missed A-Trak (one person said he was shit, another said it was one of the best sets he'd seen), and i was also a bit too tired to go to a long night of More Fire.
Sunday came around, and i just went down for a beer at the Blue Tile, and to see Ems play. Then i went home, was about to chill out, then got a msg from Zoe saying she was at the Roc Raida/Lord Finesse show (and Q-Unique) and she had a spare ticket (Zulu Superjam). So woot, i headed down there, caught the show, saw Lord Finesse, who was ok, but a little bit boring, he kept rewinding tracks to play the remix as well which was generally kinda annoying. Roc Raida did some of his tricks, and a miny DJ Set, which was really good, but way too short lived... anyway i had some fun, and a bit of a boogy, also met another guy who's doing sound art stuff, who'll hopefully msg me when he does something. In fact i'm gonna say this as a general note...
IF YOU'RE A SOUND ART PERSON, AND YOU GOT SOME WORK COMING UP, FARKEN EMAIL ME THE DETAILS SO I CAN POST SOME STUFF UP! EMAIL ME.
i'll prolly only post most of the stuff if it's in Melbourne, but you international peeps hook me up too.
ok there's also our syn radio show on tonite, listen to us! check the link on the side of this page -->
Alright, that'll do pig, that'll do...

Yo!
Nic here from the random late-nite scouthall mashups - great to grab a mention up on this here blog which yes, i been reading for a while now. Best spot to find sweet new tunes and can I just say i'm glad you didn't rock up while i was playing my first set coz i played enough tunes found on here for it to be kinda embarrassing!
Anyways, check Dislocated for the random sound-art and other related workings of my brain - the big one this year was called CLEAN and was an audio ambush in Hosier lane during the Commonwealth Games. I hung out with homeless guys for three months, recorded the sounds of their lives then hid 10 speakers down the laneway and when the city was all clean and sparkling for the tourists, we blasted em with the laughing and shouting and random madness of all the crazies in the city. CLEAN website has more. I'm also doing a G20 open source sound clash at the moment- 6 people recorded audio at the protests on the weekend, then we gonna post them up and invite producers to remix, mash up, turn into beats, whatever ... produce ourselves a soundtrack to protest, if ya like.
Nyways, enuf ranting, big up the scattermish blog and i'll see ya round town one of these days.
